Rise of Droids is a prototype developed in conjunction with Barely Apes, in which my role was focused in perfecting the core mechanics and general experience of the game, adding more game feel and fixing existing bugs.
The prototype was developed over two months alongside a team of programmers and a director, with tasks distributed based on project needs and the urgency of bug fixes.
🔹 Re-designed and developed the core mechanics, as well as some of the enemies and systems.
🔹 Balanced the main game loop and game economy.
🔹 Re-worked the Y-sorting algorithm to have proper feeling of depth.
🔹 Fixed some level design issues.
🔹 Provided a technical solution to be able to work at the same time in the same project file with several other programmers.
